The World is Not Flat

Up until the Italian Renaissance, art was pretty flat. The old masters discovered perspective to increase the depth of their paintings and sculptures. Brunelleschi created the doors of the Florence Baptistry with incredible depth by using perspective. Leonardo da Vinci often gets credit for perspective. We are going to explore a simple scene using one point perspective. The video is up now at www.Showcaseartcenter.com. I also resurrected a video on 2 point perspective from 2020. We will do a new version of 2 point perspective next. Do not be afraid of the "P" word. It can be simple if approached like we will do. It can quickly get out of hand and be a numerical architectural mind bender - oh, maybe that is just me. See you next week for classes at Showcase:
10:00 AM to Noon Tuesday or Wednesday for independent painting group (no lesson plan, just painting)
1:30 - 3:30 PM Tuesday or Wednesday for step-by-step one point perspective project
9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Gouache LIVE Thursday watch party - Gouache supplied to try.
And Happy Valentine's Day. I am sending my love to all my fellow art tribe. Gotta love art and each other!
