Fly a Flag for the Fourth
Happy Fourth of July! The beautiful historic Boomer House in downtown Greeley is our subject. A long time ago, Duane Light, who wrote many Walter Foster books, told me whenever he put a flag in a painting it sold. He gave lots of good advice for improving paintings. A couple weeks ago, a group of painters sat in the front yard of this Victorian house and sketched it, en plein air (on location outside). I especially loved the flag flying beside the entrance. For our class Tuesday, I used a pen and ink drawing and then painted it with watercolor. On Tuesday I will draw the house with a waterproof black pen (Sakura Identi-pen) and then watercolor it. Join the class ($25/month) in person or zoom. Book your space at www.Showcaseartcenter.com. We start chat at 1:30 PM and start painting (drawing) at 2. Class runs till 4 PM. The video is up now on the video class page (subscription $10/month for unlimited views of 237 videos). Another fun video is fireworks. Other painting groups are Tuesday and Wednesday morning 10 to noon. Hope you have a great Independence Day. Celebrate America, home of the free because of the brave.
