Compose Paintings

There are many answers to the question, "what should I paint?" This video shares a method to make some designs from last week's reference set ups. First, we find shapes, second, we find light and dark values. The video is up now at www.ShowcaseArtCenter.com. This week we will explore a number of compositional plans in a similar manner as the video. Perhaps you will find several of these plans are worthy of enlarging into a painting. Classes at Showcase this week are as follows:

• 10-noon Tuesday and Wednesday - independent projects

• 1:30-3:30 PM Tuesday and Wednesday for step-by-step composition planning

You may only need paper and graphite and your photos from last week for class.
