Elk Mountain

This scene was on Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park. The mountains covered in snow were a beautiful background for this lone doe elk. To create the layers of depth in the scene, I simplified the shapes into opposing triangle. The temperature of each layer starts warm and cools off as they go back into space. The detail disappears as it recedes, and the colors get grayer further away. This will be our painting of the week for classes Tuesday and Wednesday 10:00-12:00 noon and 2:00-4:00 PM. The video can be found now on the video page of www.ShowcaseArtCenter.com. Book now on the class page to join by zoom. (Classes $25/month and video subscription $10/month for unlimited views of 255 choices). We are exploring places this month. Come travel the world without losing your luggage. It is much more fun!
