Western Art Weeks

Howdy! Next week the Greeley Stampede Western Art Exhibition kicks off Tuesday at 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. (reception tickets are $30 at the door and parking is free). The Greeley Art Association has been pouring a lot of time into the event to make it successful. The show will be open for viewing through July 7 at the Exhibition Building at Island Grove Park during the hours of the Stampede 4:00-9:00 PM on weekdays and 11:00 AM-9:00 PM weekends and July 4th. (Parking charged and a $5 park admission will get you to the air-conditioned art show for free). It is a great place to view animals. There is a longhorn parade each day at the park at 6:00 PM. This week's Showcase Art Center videos and classes will center around the Stampede events. No class Tuesday as we get ready for the opening reception which will have guest appearances from Miss Rodeo Colorado and Native American dancers. Wednesday morning, we will walk downtown from Showcase at 10 AM to watch the longhorn parade on 10th Street between 7th Avenue and 9th Avenue. Wednesday afternoon we will have painting class 2:00-4:00 PM. No new video this week. Keep those cameras out and capture potential painting subjects. They are everywhere next week! FYI: All art show proceeds go toward the Stampede Foundation Scholarship program.
