Color Outside the Lines
Several of you have suggested a loose juicy butterfly painting. Here it is! Two ways to go about it. One way would be to draw first and color later. The other way would be to splash color and draw after it dries. Either method works well. The video is up now at www.ShowcaseArtCenter.com. (subscription $10/month for 380 choices). October will be "Fall break" for videos and email blasts. Celebrate 380 being made by watching one that you may have missed. I appreciate your memberships and support. Share your work on the site.
Classes at Showcase are as follows through the remainder of September and October:
September 23 -10:00-noon Tuesday - Independent project painters
September 23 - 1:30-3:30 PM Tuesday CANCELLED for John Blake memorial at Adamsons at 2:00 PM
September 24 - 10:00-noon Wednesday - Independent painters
September 24 - 1:30-3:30 PM Wednesday - Painting Outside the Lines Butterflies
September 30 - 10:00-noon Tuesday - Independent project painters
September 30 - 1:30-3:30 PM Tuesday - Painting Outside the Lines Butterflies
October will be independent studio projects and catch-up time. The classroom is open Tuesday and Wednesday for groups to paint together with no instruction. Come make a new friend in art and keep those brushes wet!
Offering both routes into the same butterfly painting - draw first and colour later, or splash colour and draw after it dries - is a smart way to keep one video useful to two different skill levels. Warning members that October is a fall break for videos is the sort of detail that keeps people from thinking the site is abandoned. For a clean reference image or a thumbnail for a class like this, Image 2.5 Sunburst can generate and edit images from a prompt or a reference upload.
