Lilacs

Well you know my color preference - PURPLE! Let's explore the color purple using lilacs as our vehicle. Step out your door today and the air is heavy with the sweet smell of lilacs, well my door anyway. So enjoy getting out red and blue and mixing all the purples you can make. In this week's video I take you on a quick journey of the origin of purple while we try 3 different quick tricks on painting what could be very complicated flowers. But I like to have watercolor do the work, enjoy some serendipity, and be inspired by the media itself. In this manner we get some surprises and some beautiful flower paintings with a lot less work. Tuesday we will paint lilacs on zoom and in person at the Showcase. It's a great time of year to be inspired by nature.
