Helen Ring Robinson

Researching and learning about Colorado women in history gave us an excuse to paint a portrait profile featuring light and shadow. Helen Ring Robinson died one hundred years ago. She was the first female to be a US Senator in 1912. Women were not allowed to vote until 1920, so imagine what she endured to hold that position. Painting this portrait was lots of fun. The video is up on www.ShowcaseArtCenter.com now. We will paint her step-by-step Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon 2:00-4:00 PM. Tuesday and Wednesday morning class is 10:00-noon and will be individual painting. If you are participating in the Colorado women in history painting quilt, bring your pieces this week. Remember Watercolor LIVE is Thursday, Friday and Saturday. What a great week of painting! So glad you are a part of it.
